The Supreme Court (SC) has announced that 5,594 examinees passed the 2025 Bar Examinations, posting a 48.98-percent passing rate.

According to the SC, the 2025 Bar Examinations, held on September 7, 10, and 14, 2025 across 14 testing centers, drew a record 11,420 examinees—the highest in history.

Court data show that this year’s 48.98-percent passing rate is higher than last year’s 37.84 percent, when 3,962 of 10,471 examinees passed. While still below the 72.28-percent passing rate of the 2020–2021 Bar during the COVID-19 pandemic (8,241 passers out of 11,402 examinees), the 2025 results rank among the higher outcomes since 2000.

In the SC’s list of the 20 highest-ranking examinees, Jhenroniel Rhey Timola Sanchez of the University of the Philippines topped the examinations with a 92.70-percent rating.

Sanchez was followed by Spinel Albert Allauigan Declaro of the University of Santo Tomas–Manila with 92.4625 percent, and Alaiza Agatep Adviento of UST–Manila with 91.9125 percent.

Meanwhile, law schools were grouped by category based on the number of examinees and of first-time examinees.

Among schools with more than 100 candidates, Ateneo de Manila University led with a 96.52-percent passing rate, followed by the University of the Philippines (94.63 percent) and University of Santo Tomas–Manila (87.16 percent). Ateneo de Manila also topped the category for first-time examinees with 98.11 percent.

The Court said the oath-taking and roll-signing ceremonies of the successful examinees will be held on February 6, 2026, at the Philippine Arena.

The complete list of passers is available through the SC’s website, designated mirror sites, and official social media channels.

The 2025 Bar, chaired by SC Associate Justice Amy C. Lazaro-Javier covered core subjects including Political and Public International Law and Commercial and Taxation Laws (Day 1); Civil Law and Labor Law and Social Legislation (Day 2); and Criminal Law; Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises (Day 3).
